Dapuntobeat “Ruido es El Sonido”
Dapuntobeat returns with a new video with Mexico city in the starring role. Shot from the 36th floor of the Torre Latinoamericana, the video presents an overview of the megalopolis that gave birth to the band. It is a tribute to DF made in collaboration with visual artist Raúl Luna. The single is from there most recent album I/O released by Casete México.
DaPuntoBeat is a Mexico City based six piece band with eight years of history under their belt. Their music is easy to digest but hard to forget. The band includes Ry Machado (drums, programming), JM Salinas (programming, guitar, keyboards, bass, vocals), Ian Corona (bass, keyboards, programming, vocals), Yako (samplers, bass), Pedro Rosaldo (percussion), and Oliver González (guitar).
In 2006 DaPuntoBeat recorded a full length album entitled "Velodrom", which was released under their own label Sonido Chivaltraco, and distributed by Musart in Mexico and iTunes and eMusic internationally. Velodrom was also released in Spain by Actua Music in 2008.
DaPuntoBeat also produced an album of remixes entitled Mexican 60s All Starts, in which they re-worked classic 1960s tracks by Angélica María, Alberto Vazquez and Manolo Muñoz.
DaPuntoBeat has participated in a number of international festivals such as Festival Internacional de Benicassim (FIB), Spain 2001—where they performed along projects such as Stereo MCs, Orbital, The Juan Mclean, and Fat Boy Slim, among others — and at the Manifest, Mexico City 2005. In 2008, DPB will join acts such as Leonard Cohen, Death Cab for Cutie, Hot Chip, La Casa Azul and Justice at the FIB, where they have been invited for a second time. The band will then travel to Sweden to participate in the Way Out West Festival in Gothenburg and then to New York for the Mexico Now Festival.
